Farewell, Roger

I was saddened to receive an e-mail today that Roger Livingston (#4096 GHOST) died a week ago at age 76 due to complications from a heart attack. As I wrote on the Mariner Class Association forums, Roger was a Navy veteran and a 40-year member of the Webster Sailing Association up in Massachusetts. He and Sally actively raced #4096 Ghost for many, many years with an occasional cruise thrown in for good measure; all three of them came down here to Connecticut in 2010 to participate in the Southeast Connecticut Mariner Fleet Rendezvous to New London. He was also a skilled iceboater in the off-season.

Roger and I kept in touch throughout the years following the 2010 Rendezvous, and it was clear he certainly loved sailing his Stuart Mariner. Fair winds, Roger - you'll be missed. The picture below is Roger with his wife Sally preparing GHOST for the 2010 event.
