Final 2023 Sailing Page Pictures Posted
I finally uploaded the final four pictures taken at the end of October during ORION’s final sail and haul-out. It was a harrowing journey home as my Volkswagen Tiguan died on the highway, but fortunately, I was near a rest stop and managed to crawl to it before the car conked out completely. My father-in-law was able come with his truck and tow ORION the rest of the way home while AAA winched my car up onto a flatbed and hauled it away to the mechanic’s. Unfortunately, the engine was pretty much wrecked, and I ended up replacing it with a Subaru Outback. Let’s hope I have better luck with this car.
ORION now rests peacefully in her boatshed here at home, and I have been removing supplies from her cabin little by little and putting them away for the winter. The 2023 sailing season is officially over; the 2024 sailing season is just around the corner!
