New Trailer

Yesterday, with help from my father and father-in-law, ORION was transferred from her old trailer to a brand new one I recently bought. My father-in-law owns a skid steer and was able to pick ORION up using a four-point bridle I made when I raced her at Brant Beach Yacht Club during the 2011 Mariner Nationals (they launch all their Mariners with a hoist). It’s always a little nerve-wracking lifting the boat this way, but everything went extremely smoothly. The trailer itself needed some adjusting, but I’m very happy with how it turned out. The trailer still needs some rollers at the front and back, but now that ORION is positioned where she should be, I’m able to take some measurements and order what I need.

I also need to wait for warmer weather to come back so I can finish painting the bootstripe and varnishing all the wood!

Lifting with the skid steer.

Easy work for this machine.
