I finally finished my recap of the 2018 Mariner Class Association National Rendezvous to Essex.
Dwyer Aluminum Update
I was pretty surprised to walk in the door and find the place practically empty. A gentleman politely informed me that Dwyer hadn’t been there in about a year.
Upcoming Winter Projects
Now that the holidays have come and gone, I’m able to think a bit more about all things Mariner. I’ve been making a mental list of the things I need to do this winter.

Paul Bowers is the new, enthusiastic owner of Mariner #272, and he has begun a new website to document the adventures of #272 - renamed CRICKET - in southern waters.

ORION was officially launched for the 2018 season this past Saturday, and today I took her for her first sail.

Will Gilmore created new hatchboards for me this past winter with a picture of ORION and the constellation Orion burned into the wood using a special technique.

Dan Voorhees's Bow Pulpit
Dan Voorhees (#1476) was hoping to buy a bow pulpit for his Mariner, but prices for new ones are unaffordable for many of us small-boat sailors.
2018 Rendezvous: Stonington
There will be a lot to see and do in the Stonington Borough once we arrive there, and I have no doubt SHYC will be absolutely fantastic hosts.
