2022 Sailing Season Ended

Last Thursday, November 3rd, ORION officially ended her 2022 sailing season. It was a beautiful day, warm with calm winds. My father and I unstepped the mast at the mooring, then he met me at the Niantic River launch ramp with the trailer while I motored over. It was an easy haul-out with no issues, and after bringing ORION back to my parents’ house at Riverbank, I powerwashed the bottom while my father was kind enough to winterize my motor. Afterward, I brought her home where I eventually removed, cleaned, and stored all of the stuff inside the cabin (with help from my son) and backed her into her winter boatshed. Another successful sailing season has come and gone.

Nobody else was at the ramp - we had it to ourselves!

Powerwashed and ready to go!
