ORION is in the water, and the 2023 sailing season has officially begun!
Her original launch date was supposed to be the weekend after Easter. However, that weekend was the anniversary of the Titanic sinking and, being the semi-superstitious person I am, I decided to wait a week and launch her on Sunday, April 23rd. But then it rained most of the day, so forget that. When the skies cleared in the late afternoon, though, I took the opportunity to take ORION out of her boatshed and tie the mast down so she would be all ready to go the following morning, which I had off from work.
I brought ORION to Niantic yesterday morning, and with help from my sister, we stepped her mast and I motored her over to her mooring. I still have some little chores to do before I take her for her first sail, but at least she is in the water.
